Founding Chair’s Rural Health Scholarship

The Founding Chair’s Rural Health Scholarship is an annual $1,000 award for a first-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student on the University’s Oregon campus in good academic standing, who received a minimum of 4 years of their primary education (K-12) in a rural community (population of 50,000 or less), has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and has demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

In identifying the recipient from among the pool of eligible applicants, the Awards Committee shall select the student who best exemplifies the values of the WesternU Oregon DPTE program (Teamwork and Collaboration, Humanism, Respect and Inclusion, Innovative Solutions, Virtue and Integrity, Excellence in Leadership) and is from a group currently underrepresented in the Physical Therapy student body and/or historically underrepresented in the professional Physical Therapy workforce.
