The Foundation for Medical Excellence

The Foundation for Medical Excellence (TFME) is a public, nonprofit Oregon based educational
foundation dedicated to advancing excellence in medical education and practice, to improving
the quality of health care and to promoting sound health policy and population health.
We invite 3rd year students to apply to become TFME Scholars. TFME Scholars receive a
$5000 scholarship to defray the cost of medical school tuition. TFME Scholars are invited to
participate in all TFME programs including our leadership training, our programs on chronic
pain management and new relationships with local wellness and narrative medicine programs.
TFME Scholars will also receive coaching and mentoring in their application for residency
programs.
We are fortunate to have FIVE separate scholarships for 2022-2023. Our TFME Scholars will
receive their awards at a ceremony in Spring, 2023 (hopefully this will be held in person). Each
award is for $5,000.
