Birdie Willis Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Birdie Eugenie “Genie” Willis (Nov. 30, 1925 – Dec. 9, 2019) joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in WWII and then later went on to Midwestern University becoming an Osteopathic Family Physician. Her practice was located in the Woodstock area of Portland, where she practiced for 40 plus years, delivering hundreds of babies over the years and mentoring students in the neighborhood school. Thanks to a major gift from her estate, the Birdie Willis Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to second-, third-, and fourth-year COMP-Northwest students in good academic standing with financial need who are members of the American Medical Women’s Association-Lebanon student club.
