Ujima Scholarship Fund

The Ujima Inc., Scholarship Fund is available to African American students currently attending Western University of Health Sciences, the University of California at Riverside School of Medicine, California University of Science and Medicine, and Keck Graduate Institute, PharmD students. Students who are eligible may apply for a cash award.

The purpose of the Ujima Inc., Scholarship Fund is to 1) create a workforce of African American health science professionals who share our organizations vision of health equity for African Americans; 2) encourage African American students pursuing advance degrees in the health sciences to practice direct patient care in a Medically Underserved Area (MUA), as defined by the US Department of Health and Human Services; and 3) achieve improved health outcomes for African Americans. Scholarships must be used for required fees, tuition, books, supplies, and educational equipment costs related to the applicant’s health science education. All awards are subject to the availability of funds.
