AMA Foundation Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarships
Applications for the AMA Foundation’s 2026 Physicians of Tomorrow (PoT) scholarship cycle are now OPEN!
With 17 categories across a variety of focus areas, the AMA Foundation awards $10,000 tuition scholarships to a diverse cohort of medical students each year.
Eligibility Requirements (all must be met):
1. Rising final-year medical student graduating in 2027
Most applicants are in their third year during the application cycle. If awarded, funds are distributed in spring 2026 for the 2026–27 school year.
Students in five-year or dual-degree programs, or those taking a research year, may apply either in their third year or prior to their final year.
2. Enrolled in a fully accredited U.S. allopathic (MD) or osteopathic (DO) medical school
3. U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA status

Prohibition of AI-Generated Content
To maintain academic integrity and ensure the authenticity of work, the use of generative artificial intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly GO, Bard, or similar) to produce, rewrite, or substantially edit content in submissions is strictly prohibited. All submitted work must reflect the student’s own original thinking, analysis, and expression. Any use of AI-generated material will be considered a violation of academic honesty policies and may result in disqualification of award application.
Award amounts granted may vary each year depending on available funding.
